Welcome to Bridge House Agility Club. Formed in 2000 by a group of agility enthusiasts, BHAC obtained Kennel
Club registration in November 2003. The
club trains at all levels, including new comers to the sport and experienced
handlers. The club seeks to promote a greater understanding of dogs by training
handlers and their dogs to work happily in agility at both fun and competition
standard. Training takes place at Bridge House Riding School on Five Oaks Road near
Slinfold, Monday night for beginners and Tuesday for the more experience
handlers and dogs. Training is
provided by qualified or experience trainers. Fun
nights are a regular feature where owners can practice in a competition
atmosphere and gain certificates of achievement or win rosettes. The club promotes good dog ownership and pet health care through its
talks such as First Aid for Pets and the introduction of Galen Therapy.
The club also raises funds for it's nominated charity
Sussex Pet Rescue . Other
activities include Christmas fun nights plus additional training from guest
instructors. Bridge House held its first show in the autumn of 2004, followed by a
summer shows in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and will be repeated this year in conjunction
with Surrey Dog Training Society at
Horsham Rugby Club.. The club plans to organise new beginner courses on a quarterly basis but
trained dogs / handlers are always welcome.
